Whataheck sia, my Secondary 2 son come home and do the 369 chant. This era still got this kind of thing meh???

I am literally sweating and vibrating with rage right now. Just need to vent before my blood pressure hit the roof and I end up in A&E.

So just now, my Sec 2 son was in his room doing his homework (or so I thought). I walked past to go toilet, and I heard him mumble-singing something. I pause, listen closely, and my jaw literally drop to the floor. This brat was reciting the whole “Sam Lok Kau” chant. The Hokkien one. Clean, fluent, got rhythm some more.

I burst inside like ISD, slam his table, and ask him where the hell he learned this from. You know what this fellow told me?

“Aya Papa, relax lah, it’s a TikTok trend. Everyone in school is doing it, very cool what.”

COOL YOUR HEAD AH COOL.

I was so stunned I forgot how to speak English. I immediately gave him the worst rotan session of his life (metaphorically lah, cannot cane nowadays, but I confiscated his phone, iPad, and PC for the next three months).

Seriously, I am so shocked. This era still have pai kia and secret society nonsense meh? I thought all these 369, 18, 24 gangsters vanished since the 1990s or went to jail already. Now in 2026, our kids are studying in air-con schools, carrying iPhones, using AI to do projects, and they think chanting gang poems from the cowboy days is “aesthetic” and “cool”?

What is the school doing? I pay so much money for tuition, everyday fetch him back and forth, make sure he don’t mix with bad company, and the internet just feeds him this garbage in five seconds. I thought nowadays teenagers only care about bubble tea, Valorant, and gym tings. Never in a million years did I expect my own flesh and blood to be chanting secret society slogans in our HDB flat.

I am so worried. Tomorrow I am definitely calling his Form Teacher and the Discipline Master. If I find out he actually joined some stupid Telegram gang cluster, I swear I will personally drag him to the police station.

Any other parents facing this? How to wipe this nonsense out of his head? I cannot sleep tonight, real.
