Why SG offices got so many FT fake clowns? “Direct” people like me get judged, but at least I don’t backstab

my colleagues definitely monitor local forums, but I honestly couldn’t care less at this point.

In my company, people always judge me and say I talk too straight, no diplomacy, no “office politics filter.” But hello??? Better I tell you the harsh truth straight to your face than act nice to you and then backstab you from behind mah! Why is being honest and direct seen as a fault, while being a fake snake is rewarded?

My office has over 200+ people, and the sheer amount of drama every single week is ridiculous. It’s full of clowns who act like total gentlemen when everything is smooth sailing—smiling, offering coffee, talking cock during lunch, pretending to be your best friend. But the very moment shit hits the fan or a project delays, their true colors immediately show.

Instead of solving the problem, they panic, point fingers hysterically, and accuse everyone else just to save their own skin. Suddenly the email chain becomes an investigation court, and everyone is trying to throw someone else under the bus. Standard cover-your-ass (CYA) behavior, level 100.

And sorry to say this, I’m just stating what I see every day—the ones who are the absolute worst at this in my company are not even locals. They are the “daily commuters”. KNN I no need to say more, you all know who they are. Morning come in looking sharp, act like expert, talk big game during meetings like they can conquer the world. But when an incident happens at 5:00 PM, they immediately shift the blame to someone else, pack their bags, and run for the causeway before you can even trace the logs.

I’d rather work with someone who is loud, rude, or overly direct—at least I know where I stand with them and we can actually get work done. Why has our corporate culture turned into a theater production where acting skills matter more than actual accountability?

Anyone else facing this in their workplace, or is my company just particularly unlucky with these daily commuter performers?
