
A woman who stabbed her husband in the chest with a knife after accusing him for having an affair, was sentenced on 15 October to 8 months and 3 weeks imprisonment.
She faced 4 charges which including causing hurt with a weapon, as well as 4 more charges that were considered during sentencing.
The identities of the parties cannot be revealed due to the couple’s children being protected under the Children and Young Persons Act.
What happened?
On 28 July at around 2pm, the couple were having a heated argument in their home where the woman accused him of having an affair outside.
The man denied the claims.
The fight then escalated with the husband throwing a chair at his wife but he missed.
The woman then charged at him and bit his shoulder, to which the husband then bit her arm.
The man then called the police and the woman then took a 16cm knife and stabbed him on his chest.
The police then arrived at the scene and saw the couple still fighting, they were separated and both arrested.
The man was conveyed to hospital with injuries on his right shoulder and a stab wound on his chest that needed surgery.
The woman was found with bite marks on her arms and a bruised knee.
