A man was jailed for 5 years and 6 weeks after prostituting his wife for 17 years. The woman was 16 when she married the man who was 9 years older than her. After giving birth to her first son, he forced her into prostitution to support the family. The husband would then solicit customers for her. Out of the four children she had, two were born during the period she was prostituted by her husband.
He was charged for sexual assault, posing as a police officer, drug abuse, violation of the women’s chartered act, and also for harassment. It was stated that he started to prostitute his wife after she gave birth to the first child when she was 16 years old. She would get customers from Orchard Towers and charges between $150 to $200 per session.
In October 2018, the couple was once again in financial difficulty. He then brought an Indian man home and forced his wife to provide sexual services to him for $50. The wife could not tolerate her husband’s evil deeds and proceeded to make a police report on Oct 28.
