Punggol West SMC MP Sun Xue Ling, wrote on Facebook about the capture of a wild boar that was spotted in the Punggol Seas and Ecopolitan areas earlier today (26 February).
She shared that the waterway in her ward was cordoned off and NParks staff and contractors were activated to deal with the situation.
She also noted that a female resident was injured by the boar, as well as an NParks officer who sustained minor injuries trying to help the resident, who has been conveyed to the hospital.
WANTED
The wild boar that was captured fits the profile of the boar involved in a previous incident in Punggol, where two other residents were attacked.

The Minister of State for National Development, Tan Kiat How, then shared an update, saying that the boar was initially hiding in the bushes.
The area was then “secured” as NParks and a police officer monitored the situation, but the boar charged out and attacked a female resident.
The resident was eventually freed from the boar but an officer from NParks was bitten in the process.
HAD TO BE PUT DOWN BECAUSE TOO AGGRESSIVE
Due to the wild boar’s aggressive behavior, it had to be unfortunately euthanised.
