WILD MONKEYS TERRORISING RESIDENCES IN JURONG WEST

According to the media release, wild monkeys has been spotted terrorising West Ville private estate located at Jurong West.

According to an affected owner, this is the first time in 10 years that her residences was invaded by wild animals. It is believed that the invasion is due to lesser food available as there are lesser prayer offerings at the nearby cemetery.

The monkeys were spotted damaging furniture and eating fruits in the residences. These monkeys will usually visit the residences in the afternoon around 3 pm.

The incident has been reported to the National Environment Agency (NEA) and Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES).

Currently, NEA is monitoring the situation and looking to help the animal get back to the wild. Residents are reminded not to feed wild animals.

According to the law, anyone caught feeding wild animals will face a fine of $5,000.
