A woman in Singapore, 26-year-old Drealya Tan, shared in an Instagram post that she was allegedly filmed while showing at a Strength Masters Gym in Taiseng.
She said that she screamed for help but nobody came to help her as there were no staff members on duty at the time, and she felt helpless as she cried while trying to call them for help.
Here is what she said
I’m writing to bring attention to an unfortunate incident that occurred to me on September 29, 2023, at @strengthmastersgym . I was a victim of voyeurism around 7pm and I have filed a police report regarding this matter.
I hope that by sharing my story, I can raise awareness about voyeurism and its impact on victims.
I am reaching out in the hopes that can help spread awareness about the criminal nature of voyeurism under Section 377BB of the Penal Code. I also believe that this may not be the first time such an incident has occurred at this gym. I am seeking assistance in spreading awareness so that people can be more vigilant when using gym shower facilities. I have evidence in the form of photos, videos, and voice recordings of my conversation with the gym owner, where he suggested resolving the issue privately without involving the police. He thereafter retrieving the cctv footage and realised that there were 2 of the gym members lurking outside the female shower room during the time frame when i was in there and apologised to me after.
I no longer feel safe in Singapore, but I am determined to overcome this traumatic experience. I kindly request that this matter be brought to the attention of the public through media coverage, as it is likely that there are other victims who have unknowingly fallen prey to voyeurism. The photos I have provided serve as proof that I have filed a police report. It is distressing to think that the videos taken of me while I was showering may have been shared or distributed online.
I have seek help from MP, SPF, and even consult lawyers for legal actions on this matter yet there are no accountability and response. I know the consequences of bringing this matter to public and i demand for an answer/response. Singapore is no longer safe to me without the accountability rights i should have. This is outrage of modesty

We apologise for any misunderstanding which may have arisen from the phone conversation.
We would like to reiterate that we did not suggest resolving the issue privately. Our staff was off-site during the phone conversation and our intention was to check the CCTV footage to clarify the situation and then together with @ttzyxx make a report at the police station.
We have cooperated fully and immediately with the police and provided evidence as per their request. We have also assured @ttzyxx that we will continue cooperating fully with the police. We will also like to assure the public that we are working with the police to find the perpetrator.
Strength Masters is a professional gym and we have taken many
precautions to ensure the safety of our members.
We do not condone such acts of voyeurism.
