WOMAN ARRESTED FOR SUSPECTED THEFT, GOLD RINGS STOLEN IN WOODLANDS

The Police have arrested a 32-year-old woman, for her suspected involvement in a case of theft of dwelling.

On 21 February 2022 at about 11.35 am, the Police received a report that two gold rings were stolen from a pawnshop located along Woodlands Street 31.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from CCTV footages, officers from Woodlands Police Division established the identity of the woman and arrested her within seven hours of the report. The two gold rings were also recovered and seized as case exhibits.

Police investigations are ongoing.

The woman will be charged in court on 23 February 2022 with Theft in Dwelling, punishable under Section 380 of the Penal Code 1871. The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to seven years, and a fine.
