My husband destroyed my lenses because he said it was so suspicious of me to suddenly switch from wearing glasses to wearing lenses at work.
My husband (36) is the overly jealous and suspicious type. He could make up lots of assumptions and weird scenarios in his head if I don’t answer his call within 2 minutes or less.
I usually wear glasses, have been wearing them for 5 years. But after I got a job I paid for contact lenses as they were recommended by my coworkers and I always wanted to have them but didn’t have money.
My husband was shocked when he saw that I no longer wear glasses and instead wear lenses.
One day, I was in the shower and I discovered that he destroyed them. I lost it. I yelled and cried but his defense was that me wearing lenses all of a sudden a month after I started this new job was “suspicious”.
But I never made him feel like I was hiding something or being dishonest. We had a big fight because of it and he later apologized but said he’d rather I just go back to wearing glasses to “ease his mind” about those thoughts he’s been having.
I’m both shocked and hurt. He keeps trying to start random conversations with me like nothing happened but I can’t help but feel disconnected and quite horrified.
