A Facebook user, Cheryl See, shared how she bought Mala Tang from Shi Li Fang via food delivery and halfway through her meal, she realised that there were insects inside her food.
To her horror, she found more than 10 other insects inside her food, with the little bugs looking like Sichuan peppercorn, but with legs.
The incident took place on 4 May, after she had placed an order for the Mala Tang via Grabfood at about 6.23pm.
She added that she suffered stomachache and diarrhoea, but it wasn’t bad enough to warrant medical attention.
She then left a feedback via the Grab app for the restaurant at Junction 10, and her relative also passed by the outlet to give them her number to update her.
See has yet to receive a response from the restaurant at the time of writing.
The incident has also been reported to the Singapore Food Agency, with the SFA sending representatives to the outlet to conduct checks, but found nothing wrong, save for some holes that they found in the shop that could probably harbour the bugs.
