A wedding photographer shared screenshots of a conversation with a client, whom he helped to take wedding photos of 4 years ago, asking him for a refund after the couple divorced, saying she doesn’t need those photos anymore.
The conversation started off with the woman reaching out to the photographer via WhatsApp, asking him if he still remembers her from the wedding 4 years ago.
Thinking the woman was just reaching out to catch up, the photographer relayed his well wishes to her and asked how could he be of service to her.
The woman the revealed that she is not divorced with her husband and doesn’t need those wedding photos anymore, praising him for the wonderful job he did with the photos.
However, she then added that “i will need a refund of the amount we paid you” because she doesn’t need the photos anymore and that the photos are going to waste.
Thinking it was a joke, the photographer asked the woman if she was joking and she duly told him “no dear I’m very serious.”
The photographer then told the woman that he was very sorry to hear that the woman and her husband are divorcing, but stood firm and told her that he cannot refund her the money for his services rendered 4 years ago.
He told the woman “photography is a none refundable service” and that he can’t refund her the money because he can’t “untake the pictures”.
The insistent woman remained adamant that she was entitled to a refund because in the contract, it was not stated that she can’t get a refund.
The photographer then called the woman out for being embarrassing and maintained that he would not be making any refunds to the woman, who then threatened him with legal action, saying that he will be hearing from her lawyer.
