WOMAN & ELDERLY MUM KICKED OUT OF GOJEK, MADE TO ALIGHT @ CEMETERY AFTER ARGUMENT

A woman and her mother were allegedly kicked out of a Gojek ride at a cemetery by the driver following an argument.

The netizen, Rionna, told STOMP that she made a Gojek booking on 13 November to visit her father’s grave.

She said that before she entered the car, she told the driver that he had to wait for 5 minutes at the grave because they needed to give prayers to her father, and the driver nodded his head in agreement.

However, when they arrived at the grave and Rionna told him to wait, the driver purportedly said “you want me to wait? Wah power ah! Power sia!”

She then alighted and went to her father’s grave, and when they returned to the car later, the driver got upset and told them that he wanted to leave them there.

She then told him that it wasn’t right and that she had made this request using other ride apps in the past, which then upset the driver.

Rionna then apologised and said that it was her fault that she didn’t note it down in the app (for the driver to wait) but the driver wouldn’t accept her apology even after she offered to pay more.

The driver then suddenly jammed the brakes and the woman and her mother hit their foreheads against the seat in front.

The driver then told them to get out while they were still at the cemetery.

A spokesperson for Gojek said that they are “sorry to hear what happened” and that they “do not tolerate this kind of behaviour from their drivers”.
