A woman shared how she found a huge lizard in her waffles that she bought via GrabFood delivery from Flash Coffee’s Hillview outlet on 3 March.
The woman, Alice, spoke to Mothership and said that she was about three-quarters done eating the waffle when she discovered the reptile at the bottom of the packet.
She described her soul as leaving her body after seeing the lizard, and she then shook the bag to see if the lizard was still alive; it was dead.
She then posted photos of her unappetizing find onto Instagram and tagged Flash Coffee, asking for “free coffee and waffles for the entire year” and that a refund isn’t going to cut it.
She reasons that she had only realized there was a lizard in her food after she ate the waffle.
Flash Coffee then reached out to her and apologized, as well as offering her 2 weeks VIP status, where she gets 2 cups of coffee of any size daily for two weeks.
They also replaced her last order.
She apparently wanted waffles instead which Flash Coffee initially rejected, but eventually agreed per her liaising with the company’s managing director, who she described as being “very apologetic”.
