A woman is facing a jail sentence and fine for voluntarily causing grievous to her boyfriend.
The incident happened back in 2017 when her boyfriend was sleeping and the accuse Zareena Begum P A M Basheer Ahamed decided to pour hot water on his groin. The hot was amounted to a mug of liquid.
The man’s groin suffered severed damages resulting the man to hospitalised for 26 days and 39 days of MC. The man was not able to work for 6 months following the incident.
Court hearings suggested that the accused believed that her boyfriend was cheating on her as she witnessed him with another woman at HarbourFront Centre. Several months following the witness of her boyfriend with a woman, she plotted her scheme to cause hurt to him.
She invited the man over for supper and waited till he fell asleep, she went through his phone and found several suggestive messages send to multiple woman she then took a mug of boiling hot water and poured it over the man’s groin before confronting him.
Initially, she claimed that she woke up the man to confront about the affairs in his phone before committing the terrible act.
Month after the incident she taunted the man and told his new girlfriend to get him aloe vera.
Zereen will be back in court on the 20th October 2020 for her setencing.
She is looking at up to 15 years or life sentence and fined.
