TikTok user Vivian Tu (@YourRichBFF) shared how she went on 6 dates every week with different guys just so she could save money on food.
She ultimately managed to save about $150 a week and didn’t buy groceries even once between 2016 to 2018.
Tu Spoke to Elite Daily (via NZ Herald) that she was on dating apps to “find a connection” but soon came to the realisation that she could eat at restaurants for free, or she could spend her own money on groceries where she would still need to cook.
She chose the former and went on dates to fund her meals, and her living expenses were “very high” despite making about $95,000 per year.
However, she did say that deliberately going on dates for a free meal isn’t a great idea, and that she is still “very much in the camp that you’re dating to find love.”
Tu said that she was saving about $50 to $100 per week, and using the money that she saved on things such as her savings and investing.
