A 40-year-old woman in Taiwan was killed after being hit by two cars while crossing the road, succumbing to her injuries and dying at the hospital.
The incident happened on 6 October, in the Luzhu District of Taoyuan, Taiwan, at about 10.25pm, according to Yahoo News Taiwan.
The woman was seen crossing the road while using her phone, and her head was looking down at the time, according to footage captured by eyewitnesses.
She got hit by a white car and collapsed in the middle of the road, when another black car then drove at a high speed and ran her over again, presumably because he didn’t notice her.
Her body was dragged on the road for about 5 metres, and a trail of blood was seen left behind on the road.
A man on the opposite side of the road tried to help the woman after the first collision, but he was too late and couldn’t stop the second car from hitting her.
2 drivers aged 35 and 47 were arrested by the local police, according to 8World News, and are under investigation for manslaughter.
