Lost hope in humanity… I thought I lost my phone for a moment as I had many stuff with me. Tried to ask to borrow from some people in the supermarket and none were willing to borrow even for an urgent phonecall to ask for help. Is there starting to be distrust amongst even our locals? I was directed to an empty customer service. My phone would have been long gone by then.
PS: Thankfully, I found it amongst my shopping bags eventually.
Here are what netizens think:
I was once nice and my phone was almost snatched. Lucky that time, I still can walk and run so gave a little chase and tripped the person to the ground. Got my phone back and person beg me not to call the police so I let go… Since this incident, I won’t lend phone to anyone some more now I officially disabled and can’t walk much. If anything, I will only offer call 999 for them.
If you are not in placed in such situation, you would not had experienced this. This sort of reaction is quite common, the deterioration of social trust and civic graciousness in Singapore’s society.
If you approach me, I would definitely help you to call your number. However, I will hesitate passing my phone to you. I passed my phone to a kid once to make a call and he slobbered all over it. Not very pleasant for me.
I will lend you but I must dial the number for you and don’t blame people for not helping you now most people will be frighten I do get it before just give my phone to them but they call other country
I lent someone my phone before when hers was out of battery but I dialled it for her before passing it to her. Would definitely help u if I were there and if u were to approach me.
