What happened?
Foo visited a clinic on 14 July 2020 after complaining of a sore throat and cough, and she was then diagnosed with upper respiratory tract infection and given a 5-day MC.
The doctor told her that she was not allowed to leave her home for any reason except to seek urgent medical attention, and Foo then accepted the MC.
She then later left her home at Bedok North at about 9.15am on 17 July. walking her son to his preschool nearby.
She then took a private-hire car to a flat at Macpherson Lane at about 3.30pm, before taking another private-hire car to Great World City to meet her friends for a movie.
Foo then took a taxi home after the movie, then reoffended again at 3.30am, taking a private-hire car to a flat at Macpherson Lane before returning home 7 hours later.
Court documents didn’t reveal how she was caught but she had initially denied leaving her home during her MC, only confessing after being confronted with evidence.
She was released on $2,000 bail on Wednesday and ordered to surrender herself on Friday to start her prison sentence.
