A Facebook user, Tiang Lim, shared how she was at KFC for a Father’s Day dinner and asked for 7 cups of water, which the staff obliged free of charge.
However, her son then spilled one of the cups and she then asked for another cup, to which the staff refused and the woman then got angry.
Here is what she said (sic)
KFCÂ totally spoilt my Father’s Day dinner today. 6 of us bought 15 piece chicken and asked for 7 cups of plain water as we don’t want to drink fizzy soft drinks.
My 7 year old son accidentally spilled one cup of water and I went to ask for another cup. The service staff said “I already gave you 7 cups of water, I cannot give you another cup, you need to buy the soft drinks”.
Her attitude was rude and loud. I was stunned! I explained that my son spilled the water, so I am asking for another cup but she still refused. I walked back disappointed and the happy dinner was completely ruined.
Feeling unhappy of her rude attitude, I walked back to ask for her name as I wanted to write to KFC to let them know of their staff’s poor attitude. She said “Why do you want to know my name?” Why do you want to know? Anything tell my manager”
The only saving grace was that the assistant manager was understanding and apologised. Seriously, how much does a small cup of plain water cost the restaurant?! Why can’t I ask for more water after my son has accidentally spilled his?
My son was sad that his accidental spillage had caused the happy dining experience to be ruined completely.
Service staff was a Malay lady at Toa Payoh KFC branch at about 8.30pm.
