Mun Sau Yeng, 41-years-old, was sentenced to 15 months jail for forcing her maid to hit her own mouth with a meat pounder 50 times because she was unhappy that her maid left fingerprints on her kitchen windows.
She pleaded guilty to three counts of maid abuse; four other similar charges were considered during sentencing.
The offences occured on 4 February 2019 and resulted in the Indonesian maid, Yuni Dwi Lestari, finding three teeth in her lower jaw coming loose.
Mun was still not happy because she wanted her maid to lose her teeth, so she took the meat pounder and struck Yuni’s teeth, chipping one of them.
Not the first time
In November 2018, Mun got enraged because she found out Yuni ate a can of sardines for lunch; the sardines for planned for the maid’s dinner.
Mun the struck Yuni on both her cheeks several times, before asking her to punch her own face 50 times and asking her to count the times she hit herself.
The maid suffered swelling and both her cheeks were bruised.
Mun believed that her maid would remember the punishment if she punched herself.
On 7 February 2019, three days after Mun asked Yuni to hammer her own mouth, she told her maid that if dust was spotted in the flat, she would “know what will happen”.
Later that day, Mun returned home and found dust in some parts of the unit, she then punched the maid in the mouth about 10 times, causing the maid to bleed from her lips.
