WOMAN PAYS COLLEAGUE $50 A MONTH TO FETCH HER TO WORK, KPKB WHEN SHE LATE

Is it too much to ask my coworker to get me to work on time?

So I 27f have been carpooling with my 43f colleague to work. We literally live in the same building so it just made sense to carpool to work because we were both going.

I gave her between 50 and 100 dollars every month as a thank you and for petrol (sometimes 50 because its split with another colleague sometimes).

At first, it was fine. We would leave at 8:20 and get to work at 9 and leave work at 6. Over time she started leaving later and later. 8:30, 8:40, and then one day she asked to leave at 8:50. Which means we were getting to work later and later and we would have to stay later as well. My colleague is a senior at our company so she has more flexibility with her hours. I, on the other hand, am an intern who is being evaluated on work performance before becoming a permanent member of the company.

I recently asked my boss if i could stay and he said he needed to evaluate me and that evaluation included attendance. I started dropping hints to my colleague saying it would be nice if I could get home on time and that I would rather get home early than leave late and she just shrugged it off.

Finally i just straight up asked her if we could leave at a decent time so I could make it to work by 9. She replied saying she didn’t know why i cared so much and if she told the boss I did a good job I shouldn’t be worried. But I told her that I’m really just trying to cover my ass here because if I lose this job it’ll be really hard for me to get another one. The next day she said we would leave at 8:20 but she was clearly upset with me.

I know I’m messing up her schedule and she’s doing me a big favor by giving me a ride (it takes 2 hours to get to our job by public transit), but is it too much to ask to just come into work and leave work on time?
