A 50-year-old woman was sentenced to 4 years of jail after she was found guilty of causing hurt to her boyfriend intentionally by pouring boiling water on his private part. It was reported that the root cause for her action was due to her boyfriend cheating on her.
According to the court documents, the pair met in 2006 and they have been together for 11 years. The man was married but he promised the woman that he will get a divorce and marries her later.
The man was found cheating on the woman several times, on the day of the incident, the woman found out that the man has cheated on her again. Out of anger, she decided to pour a glass of boiling water no the man’s private part to teach him a lesson.
Her action has caused the man to suffer severe burn on his private part.
During the court hearing, the prosecutor has requested the court to sentence the woman to 5 years 3 months of jail whereas the defence lawyer requested for 2 years instead.
The woman is currently out on bail and she decided to appeal against her sentence.
