WOMAN QUITS JOB, THEN ON LAST DAY OF WORK CAN’T BEAR TO LEAVE & CRY LIKE ITS A BREAK UP

Is it normal to feel sad for quitting a job

I’ve been working at a company for a year and I had to quit the job suddenly due to personal reasons. I wasn’t feeling anything until I suddenly feel very upset on my last day of work, I can’t help but to cry non stop after leaving work which really shocked me, idk why I’m acting like this suddenly.

It’s my first full time job and I have never acted like that for previous internships. Does anyone act like this when you quit your job too?

I act as if I went through a breakup haha. Please let me know if it’s normal or I’m just being too emotional for no reason. Help appreciated thanks.

My colleagues are really nice to me compared to previous internships so maybe that’s why I feel attached to them. It’s great to know that it’s actually normal.

I’ve calmed down now and hopefully I’ll totally get over it soon. I also hope I won’t act the same way for my next resignation lol, it’s a terrible feeling.

  1. It’s perfectly normal to have an emotional reaction when you are leaving somewhere you have become used to. You are voluntarily giving up certainty and a familiar space, for uncertainty and change.
  2. totally normal. It means you like that workplace and it makes you feel comfortable. You have some attachment to the place.
  3. Every time I jump job, I think about the hundreds of dollars of monthly increment I get and the one month of stress-free work. It brings me joy to be honest.
  4. I teared up leaving intern cus my colleagues were the best and I felt bad leaving but they wouldn’t want me to stay either and one by one they left aft me
  5. Continue to keep in contact with the folks and friends you made at the company, you never know one day you might bump into them again!
  6. Yes, I was happy and sad, it’s weird, sad because I’m leaving behind a bunch of awesome colleagues that are pretty much friends at that point. But happy because it was a new start, a next stage of my life/career.
  7. When you have worn a pair of shoes for some time, you may feel sad when you need to replace them.
