According to Shin Min Daily News, the accident happened at around 4:15 pm along Bukit Panjang Ring Road, just after the Segar Road junction. Photos of the incident that have been circulating online show a black car stopped across the road from Zhenghua Community Club, with a red PMA on the rightmost lane of the road and another PMA toppled over and wedged under the car.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Mothership that it conveyed one person to Tan Tock Seng Hospital and assessed another person for minor injuries. Shin Min reported that the two PMA riders were a 68-year-old woman and a 74-year-old man, with the woman being conveyed to the hospital in an unconscious state.

A 32-year-old driver was arrested for negligent driving, and the case is currently under investigation.

This incident highlights the importance of road safety, especially for vulnerable road users such as PMA riders. Drivers should always be vigilant and aware of their surroundings, particularly when driving near pedestrian crossings and community areas where PMA riders are more likely to be present.

PMA riders should also take necessary precautions to ensure their safety, such as wearing bright and reflective clothing, using designated walking paths, and avoiding distractions while on the road.

Our thoughts are with the victims and their families, and we hope for a speedy recovery for the injured rider. We also urge all road users to exercise caution and prioritize safety on the roads.
