A woman was seen sitting on the window ledge of a HDB unit for several hours. After receiving a report, the civil defense erected a safety air cushion at the scene to save people.
Several videos were circulated in Instagram yesterday (July 18). A woman looked dull and sat on the window edge of more than 15 floors, shocking many.
According to netizens, the accident occurred in the Block 656 Kaki Bukit Road. Many stated that the woman had been sitting there from 4 o’clock in the afternoon, and she still did not get down until 7 o’clock in the evening.
From the video, there were 6 civil defense and police vehicles at the scene. In addition to setting up a safety air cushion at the scene, the civil defense forces also have members on the floor where the woman is, negotiating with the woman and waiting for the opportunity to save her.
A civil defense spokesman pointed out when questioned that the civil defense team received a report at 4:20 pm yesterday and were asked to go to Jalan Tenaga for assistance.
The spokesman said that after the arrival of the civil defense, a person was found sitting on the edge of the window, and the civil defense immediately deployed a safety air cushion as a protective measure.
The spokesperson pointed out that the members of the Civil Defense Disaster Rescue Team (DART) also casted a net from upstairs to rescue the person.
