The Incident
A woman, identified as Nijhum Ahmed, took to social media to recount a distressing experience while out on an evening jog. In her post on Wednesday (Jan 30), Ahmed shared how she was followed by a man during her exercise routine in Lavender.
Ahmed, realizing the potential danger, promptly adjusted her jogging route to avoid the persistent follower. Despite her efforts, the man continued to trail her near the FairPrice outlet at Kitchener Complex. In her Facebook post, she stated that while she was jogging, a guy had been following her.
To document the alarming situation, Ahmed cleverly captured an image of the man she claimed had been tailing her. The posted image reveals a man dressed in a long-sleeve black T-shirt engaged in a phone conversation.
Expressing genuine concern for her safety, Ahmed sought assistance from passers-by in the vicinity. Simultaneously, she called a friend for support. In her Facebook post, she mentioned, “When he (her Singaporean friend) arrived, he saw the guy behind me, and thankfully, he helped me out of that scary situation.”
While Ahmed did not specify the exact time of the incident in her initial Facebook post, she later shared in the comments that she was followed for over an hour by the unidentified man.

While jogging, this guy kept following me. I switched my route to avoid him, but he continued trailing me on the Lavender Fair Price Road. I asked people around, and they said the police can’t intervene until he makes a mistake. I was puzzled—wait for him to do something wrong? So, I called my Singaporean friend, explained everything, and he was shocked too. When he arrived, he saw the guy behind me, and thankfully, he helped me out of that scary situation. Horrible
