TikTok user @mainetaiko, shared a video on 13 September about how she placed a pickup order from Ice Edge Cafe at Simon Plaza via the Grabfood app.
She said that there were no mentions of the store being closed down, and that she was still able to add their food items into her cart just like any other orders.
Everything had went “smoothly”, but she did notice that her order’s estimated ready time was 10 minutes, which she found “off” because cafe meal orders usually take 20 minutes.
She paid no heed to it and thought it was an application glitch, before going ahead to place her order, which went through and was accepted.
She later arrived at the cafe to pick up her order and saw that the cafe had closed down, and was in the midst of being demolished.
The cafe has since reached out to her and explained that they have closed down, and they were just as perplexed as her as to why and how her order went through.
She has also reported the incident to Grab, who have yet to respond at the time of writing.
