Hello. Just need somewhere to vent. I am a woman in my 30s, and an only child. I just got ROM recently, currently staying with my in laws as husband and i are waiting for our flat to be built up. It will be ready in 2026.
Husband and I haven went though the traditional chinese wedding yet as we prefer to get a home first. Now that our new home is certain, we intend to hold our wedding this year end.
Reason for it to be in year end, its because we are still saving up for the buffet lunch/dinner. We have spend most of our money on the new house downpayment.
Sadly my mum ( single parent) isn’t willing to wait so long. She have been creating a ruckus since the day we ROM, and said mean things like my in laws are getting me free of charge.
She called my husband a thief. I visit and stays with her every Friday but today I ended my relationship with her and cut all contact.
Reason? She called up the movers and removed all my things at her house. My wardrobe, my clothes, and my daily items like shampoo.
After the movers removed them, she even called up my husband asking him to pay for the movers fees at $300.
She said I am a B, sleep with a man before a traditional marriage. She curses my whole family ( in laws) myself included asking us to go and die of major illnesses.
She said her pet cat is her child, a child whom will never marry and leave her. She said I am no longer her child. She said that my husband and i fake poverty to skip the traditional marriage.
I showed her my bank balance as proof but she said I hide my money elsewhere and I purposely withdrew them to show her a low amount bank account.
I feel that she do not even have the basic common sense. I am a deaf mute, I m working as a flyer distributor two days per week at $40 per day. where will I get 4-5 digits for a wedding? Sure unless i approach the loan sharks.
Am I wrong to cut contact with her? Is this matter too trivial to cut off my birth mother? I have to be honest I felt so much at peace knowing she will never contact us anymore.
