A recent report by Shin Min Daily News sheds light on a growing concern – the sudden proliferation of over 10 massage parlours in this HDB estate.

However, some of the new massage parlours are offering some “extra, special services”.

The Unsettling Scene: A Closer Look

Residents have voiced complaints, pointing out that not all massage parlours in the area seem legitimate. Some establishments are suspected of offering illicit services, turning the once quiet estate into a hotbed of controversy.

Female employees from these parlours have been reported to be dressed in revealing clothing and actively soliciting passersby, blurring the lines between legitimate massage services and those of a more private nature. The tactics employed by these establishments are causing discomfort among the locals.

In an attempt to validate residents’ claims, a Shin Min reporter visited the area and confirmed the existence of numerous massage parlours.

The report details encounters with skimpily-dressed women and sheds light on the supposedly shady massage parlours that offer private rooms.

Residents, like Mr. Chen, have come forward, sharing with SMDN their experiences within these massage parlours. Some confirm the provision of these special services and raising concerns about the transparency of these businesses and their impact on the community.

He added that the women wouldn’t openly reveal that they are offering special massages, and they they would get the customers inside the shop first.

And when the customers are getting the massages, the women would touch sensitive areas of the customer to “rile them up” before asking them if they want the “special”, with the prices priced accordingly.

Impact on the Community: A Divided Neighborhood

Residents, including Mr. Liao, express their discontent with the surge of massage parlours, labeling it as offensive and detrimental to the overall image of the estate.

Another resident, Mrs. Zhang, voiced her concern about the potential negative consequences on children in the area.

Collateral Damage: Legitimate Businesses Suffer

Established massage businesses, such as those offering traditional Chinese massage, are facing collateral damage. A manager of a legitimate traditional Chinese massage parlour offering tui na services, shared that their business have been affected, with some customers even asking her if their shop offers special services.
