The Singapore Police Force said in a news release that 21 people between the ages of 29 and 76 have been arrested for illegal gambling and vice activities as part of various operations that took place in Bedok and Changi over 2 days.
The operations were led by Bedok Neighbourhood Police Centre, and saw 9 men between the ages of 52 and 75 allegedly acted as bookmakers collecting and placing bets remotely for 7 men, in Bedok North Street 3, New Upper Changi Road and Bedok South Road.
The police also seized more than $7,500 in cash and 3 mobile phones.
Another operation saw 8 men between the ages of 55 and 76, as well as a 68-year-old woman arrested @ Changi Road for their suspected involvement in illegal gambling activities.
The police also seized cash of about $258, a mobile phone as well as gambling paraphernalia.
All nine of them are under investigation for illegal gambling.
A third police operation saw 2 massage establishments in New Upper Changi Road allegedly failing to make sure that their masseuses didn’t provide explicit services.
Three women between the ages of 29 and 43 were arrested under the Women’s Charter.
