The wooden planks on the ceiling at Far East Plaza reportedly fell and narrowly missed a woman on the 2nd floor.
The wooden planks were then picked up and taken away by staff members of the shopping mall, and nobody was injured in the freak accident.
Shin Min Daily News reported that the incident took place on 10 August yesterday at about 9.45am, at the open area near the 2nd floor escalator of the shopping mall.
Eyewitnesses said that they saw several wooden planks falling from the ceiling, with debris from the collapse being left behind in the vicinity.
A shop owner who was opening his store said that he heard screams emanating from the open area and saw a woman covering her head while walking away from where the planks dropped.
The shopping mall’s staff then arrived to cordon off the area and clean up the debris, and were reportedly seen carrying the wooden planks away.
