
A secondary school teacher is facing charges after $40,000 of student funds were misappropriated.
The teacher who handcuffed in school was embarrassed in front of fellow colleagues and students.
In her defence, she stated that she did not count the money handed to her by other teachers, the money was supposedly used for printing learning materials for the school, she added that the school did not have any rules on how teachers should handle any cash received.
There were also evidence that she collected $1,700 for printing but the cost for printing is only $500.
She is facing two charges of criminal breach of trust as a public servant and she intends to contest the charges.
If she is convicted of criminal breach of trust, she is facing up to 10 years jail for each charge.
