Fired over Email for asking for time over my mother dying!

So I just got fired for requesting an extension on my return date until this following Monday.’So I just got fired for requesting an extension on my return date until this following Monday.

My mom passed away last Monday evening at work, I went home Unpaid of course, and was given 3 bereavement leave days to settle my mother’s funeral and after-death stuff, and hurry back home, no time to rest, grieve anything.

I honestly haven’t even had time to grieve as it’s all been a blur. I emailed HR today and asked if I can please have the rest of this week to finish my moms estate and actually grieve her death.

She said they’ve been gracious enough by offering me bereavement and basically fired me over email telling me they’ll mail my final check.

This is a company with a “ social media “ presence that presents itself as friendly etc, I’m beyond devastated.

Update: They’ve contacted via a blocked call and asked me to take down my posts… I Will NOT! What happened to me is bullshit and I will share it with everyone.
