A worker from the Jurong Fishery Port has shed light on how he thinks the cluster at the fishery port formed.
He said that mask wearing habits were lax and it might’ve played a part.
“A barrel of fish weight about 100kg to 120kg, we hand-carry it to our stalls from the lorries and it is hard labour.”
“We sometimes take off our masks for a short while to catch our breaths, with sweat pouring down our faces. When we talk to one another and are not careful, that’s how the virus spreads.”
The worker shared that he knew of 5 workers of were infected, and that he had interacted with them a few days ago.
But his own test results came back negative.
A fishmonger also shared that he often sees people taking smoking breaks without masks on and chatting in groups of 2 to 3.
