At about 5:30 p.m. today (30 Sep), SCDF was activated for a height rescue incident involving a worker who was stranded on a gondola between the 8th and 9th floor at the abovementioned location.
SCDF firefighters from Bukit Batok Fire Station were the first to arrive and proceeded to the rooftop to assess the gondola’s stability and the condition of the worker on the gondola.
Specialists from the elite Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART) also responded and set up a lowering system from the rooftop to allow two DART specialists to descend to the gondola. The worker was then secured to a DART specialist with a body harness and safely lowered to the ground.
The worker was assessed by an SCDF paramedic at the site. There were no visible injuries and the worker refused conveyance to the hospital.
