These foreign workers will never fail to gather on weekends and public holidays past midnight in mass and blatant Covid violations while the rest of Singapore is expected to adhere to restrictions even on festive occasions.
They will gather to have large drinking sessions and behave inappropriately. The males will even urinate in the sight of female parkgoers not caring about how we feel. They also have standby to lookout for police vehicles driving by on walkway patrols.
Hence, I hope you will highlight these occurrences and let Singaporeans decide if our adherence to safety measures are worth our while!
Potential penalties
A person caught urinating in a public place may be liable to pay a fine of up to $1000 for the first offence if convicted in court. This rises to a fine not exceeding $2000 for a second offence and a fine not exceeding $5000 for a third or any subsequent offences.
The maximum permissible group size for social gatherings is 5 persons.
Breach of safe distancing measures
First-time offenders who breach safe distancing measures are fined $300.
For non-compliance with safe management measures under the Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020, offenders may be jailed for up to six months, fined up to S$10,000, or both.
Not wearing masks
If they are caught by the Police for not wearing a mask or not wearing a mask properly they can be charged under the Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020.
Penalties include a fine of up to SGD$10,000 and jail for up to six months.
