A Facebook user Alson P Moo has shared his unpleasant encounter when he was at work. According to the user, he works as a restaurant manager and he came across an uncle who refused to follow the COVID-19 regulations.
According to the user, the uncle took off his mask immediately after sitting down and gave a death stare at the user when he was reminded to put on his mask. The user then told the uncle that if he was unable to follow the regulations he will have to leave the restaurant.
Upon hearing the user request, the uncle replied asking the user if he knows who is he? He then told the user that he is a paying customer.
The uncle only put on his mask after he was scolded by his daughter and told the user that he only put on his mask because his daughter asked him to. He then further said that he doesn’t care about the law and nobody are authorised to make him follow the law.

“It already been almost more than 8 months since mask-wearing and safe entry check-in is mandatory. I still don’t understand why till today there are still people who want to show their “sovereign” attitude.
I work as a restaurant manager and today during dinner, an uncle in his 60s walked into our restaurant to join his family for dinner. I went over to him to ask if he has checked in and the following conversation ensued:
Me – Hi good evening sir, have you done your safe entry check-in?
Him – ya. Me – May I have a look, sir?
Him, in a raised tone – You want to see what see? I say I already check in means check-in already!
Me – Sir, I am just doing my job. Pls kindly cooperate. The uncle tsked me in a loud tone and slammed his phone on the table. And spoke out loudly – Nah! See yourself!
Me- Sir please unlock your screen and show me your check-in time pass. The uncle unhappily shoved his phone near my face and almost shouted at me – Are you happy now?
Me – Thank you, sir.
A while later, he proceeded to take out his mask while browsing through the menu. All his other family members were masked up. I went over again and mentally prepared for shit.
Me – Sir, please keep your mask on before your food/drinks are served. The uncle refused to budge and just stared at me blankly while giving me a “xialan” smile. I repeated my requests in a more stern tone and seeing that he was adamant about not putting on his mask, I then pointed at the exit door and told him”Sir, if you are unable to follow the covid regulations, I am afraid that we cant serve you. Please leave the restaurant immediately”
Him- Do you know who I am? I am the spending customer you know?
His family members finally intervened with his daughter scolding him”Dad, why must you be so stubborn every time. Cant, you just follow the law and stop making other people’s life difficult. Do you want someone to call the police on you or other customers to video this and put it on Facebook? If you still behave like this then we will cancel this dinner and just order grab food at home.
The uncle unwillingly put on his mask while staring at me (the kind of stare that 90s ah bengs give to jio for a fight)
His daughter apologised to me but the uncle was not done yet. “I tell you, ah, I wear my mask is because of my daughter. I don’t care about what law or any of you! None of you is authorised to make me follow any law!” “
