BTS member Suga recently held a three-day concert at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, with performances on Friday (16 June) and Saturday (17 June).
Fans eagerly showed their support by enduring long queues in the hot weather to purchase exclusive merchandise related to the event.
Devoted fans patiently waited for up to five hours in line to acquire BTS Suga merchandise. Videos posted on TikTok during the weekend showcased the extensive queues that snaked throughout the concert venue, with many fans finding respite by sitting down while waiting.
One TikTok user, Raihanna Rayyans, shared her experience on 16 June, revealing that she and her friends arrived at the queue at 8 am. They finally obtained the merchandise they desired at 1:30 pm, enduring the five-and-a-half-hour wait. Raihanna mentioned that the weather was exceptionally humid, and while she was fortunate to queue under shelter, others had to endure the scorching sun for a minimum of two to three hours.
Luckily, a Cheers outlet was conveniently located nearby, allowing fans to purchase drinks to stay refreshed. Nevertheless, the heat caused some fans to experience makeup meltdowns.
Despite the challenges, Raihanna also mentioned some positive aspects of the situation. She expressed gratitude for fellow concert-goers who shared snacks with those waiting in line.
In Raihanna’s case, her concert was scheduled for a later date, enabling her to secure the merchandise days before the actual event.
Another fan recounted queuing up for merchandise at 11:45 am on 16 June. Their video depicted an endless line of fans filling the venue, eagerly anticipating their turn to collect the items. The wait was so extensive that the fan even joked about hosting a giveaway. Additionally, the scorching heat led to sunburns, but kind-hearted individuals offered food and water to help alleviate the discomfort. Finally, the fan made their purchases at 4:45 pm, five hours later.
Both Raihanna and the other fan’s accounts gained attention on TikTok, resonating with other concert-goers who shared similar experiences. One user expressed disappointment at not being able to purchase their desired shirt, despite waiting for five and a half hours in line.
Raihanna advised fans to arrive at the venue early to secure their preferred merchandise before it sells out. She also revealed that some fans went to the extent of queuing overnight. Other users recommended staying hydrated and acknowledged the intense heat of the day.
