It was previously reported that a fight broke out between a shirtless man and another man wearing a white shirt along the side of the road at Siglap on Wednesday (3 January).
New information has since been ascertained, with the man wearing a white shirt who fought barefoot, coming forward to share his Point-of-View (POV).
The man, 30-year-old Mr Teo, said that he operates a food stall in the vicinity with his wife about half a year ago.
“Stare what stare”
On the day of the fight, Teo was having his smoke break, enjoying his cigarette at the side of the road when he chanced upon the shirtless man on the other side of the road.
The shirtless man confronted him for “staring”, asking Teo “stare what stare” before approaching him and throwing a punch at him.
On why he was barefoot in the video, Teo said that the shirtless man pushed him during the fight and he lost his slippers, before adding that he also lost his glasses in the now-viral altercation.
Had no choice but to defend himself
Teo added that initially, he was hesitant and didn’t dare to fight back against the shirtless man because he had to take care of his stall, but was figuratively backed into a corner and left with no choice but to defend himself as the man kept attacking him.
On the viral video of the fight circulating online, Teo said that the video only caught what happened during the fight, and that the man left the scene after the fight had finished.
The police were then called in by Teo’s wife but the shirtless man had already left the scene.
The couple also shared that they had never seen the shirtless man before and had no idea who is he, although another stall owner nearby revealed that the same man had gotten into an argument with their husband, warning the public to steer clear of the man should they run into him.
