YET ANOTHER SG DRIVER, PUMP PETROL UNTIL USE LEG TO SHAKE CAR

Singapore Driver Goes Viral After Shaking Car While Refuelling In Malaysia To Try And Get More Petrol

A Singapore-registered driver has gone viral on social media after he was spotted performing an unusual manoeuvre while refuelling his vehicle at a petrol station in Malaysia.

The incident was captured in a short video that was uploaded to Facebook group Sgmustwatchla, where it quickly attracted attention from amused netizens.

In the six-second clip, the driver can be seen standing at the rear of his silver car while fuel was being pumped into the vehicle. Instead of waiting beside the pump like most motorists, he repeatedly pushed down on the boot of the car with both his hands and legs, causing the entire rear end of the vehicle to bounce up and down.

Observers speculated that the driver may have been attempting to create additional space inside the fuel tank so that more petrol could be pumped into the vehicle.

Netizens Question Effectiveness Of The Method

The unusual sight sparked a flood of comments online, with many questioning whether the effort would have any meaningful impact on the amount of fuel the car could hold.

Some users joked that the driver was giving his vehicle a workout session, while others suggested that any savings achieved would be insignificant compared to the potential cost of damaging components of the vehicle.

One commenter remarked that the driver could end up spending more money replacing a damaged fuel sensor than the amount of petrol he hoped to gain.

Another pointed out that petrol is a liquid and not a solid material, adding that shaking the vehicle would not magically create significant additional space in the fuel tank.

Others simply found the scene entertaining, with some saying they had never witnessed anyone attempting such a technique at a petrol station before.

Can Shaking A Car Increase Fuel Capacity?

While some motorists believe that rocking or shaking a vehicle during refuelling may help release trapped air pockets, automotive enthusiasts online noted that modern fuel systems are generally designed to vent air efficiently during the filling process.

As a result, aggressively bouncing a vehicle is unlikely to allow a substantial amount of additional fuel to enter the tank.

Regardless of whether the technique works, the clip has become a talking point among Singaporean and Malaysian netizens, with many expressing amusement at the driver’s determination to maximise every drop of petrol purchased across the border.

The video continues to circulate online, generating laughs and debate over whether the driver’s efforts were a clever fuel-saving trick or simply an unnecessary exercise.
