A 42-year-old man has died after falling through the roof of a covered walkway in Yishun during the early hours of the morning.
The incident occurred on June 29 at Block 107 Yishun Ring Road, where the man reportedly plunged through the shelter structure before landing on the ground below.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident at around 5:30am.
When paramedics arrived, the man was found unconscious and was subsequently conveyed to hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Despite medical efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries.
The circumstances leading to the fall remain unclear.
Loud Crash Heard Before Police Arrival
Residents in the area reported hearing a loud noise shortly before authorities arrived at the scene.
One eyewitness said she was startled awake by a sudden crashing sound at approximately 5am.
Initially, she believed the noise had originated from a nearby construction site and did not think much of it.
It was only later, after speaking to a friend who had passed by the area, that she learnt something serious had happened.
The friend reportedly saw police officers at the location and noticed that access to a nearby lift had been temporarily restricted while investigations were being conducted.
Several residents were said to have gathered around the area as officers secured the scene and carried out their inquiries.
Police Investigations Ongoing
The Singapore Police Force confirmed that officers responded to a report of a fall from height at the location.
According to preliminary investigations, there is currently no indication of foul play.
Authorities have not released further details regarding how the man ended up on top of the shelter or what may have caused the incident.
Investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the case.
As with many incidents involving falls from height, officers will examine available evidence, witness accounts and any relevant surveillance footage to piece together the sequence of events.

Police have stated that investigations are continuing.
