YOUTH GETS PROBATION FOR ROBBING EX-GF OF $40 WITH KITCHEN KNIFE

A 17-year-old polytechnic student robbed his ex-girlfriend and knifepoint and was sentenced to probation.

The poly student who is now 19 years old pleaded guilty to a count of robbery.

According to Today News, back when the couple was still together the victim asked the accused to give him $200

The victim only returned the accused $100 and on a separate occasion the teen use a kitchen knife to rob her of another $40.

It is unclear if the student managed to complete his polytechnic studies.

Background

The incident happened back in 2020 when the accused is 17 years old and his girlfriend was 1 year younger.

After they broke up, the accused demanded the girlfriend return the money, the accused who is staying at a Yishun flat took a knife and prepares to threaten the victim into returning him the money.

He went to her home in Geylang and waited for her at the staircase of her unit. He waited there for two hours and waited for her to leave.

After she leave her home he confronted her and placed the knife at her neck demanding the money.

The victim who was afraid oif her life transferred the accused $40, he then warn her not to tell anyone or he will come back and find her.

The victim somehow managed to escape and hide at a nearby block to call the Police.

When the transfer was completed, he pointed the knife at her again and asked her to sit next to him on the staircase.

After she complied, he warned her not to tell anyone about the incident or get her friends or the police involved. He told her if she did so, his “friends” would come and find her.

She managed to escape, ran to a nearby block and went to the 12th floor to call the police. She hid there until police officers arrived.
