Ralph Wee Yi Kai, 19, the YP responsible for intruding a Rhino enclosure at the Singapore Zoo to perform a backflip and killing a frog at Sentosa Cove has been issued a warrant of arrest.
This was because he did not appear in court on Nov 5 which he was supposed to turn up for a bail review.
His parents expended their efforts in waking him up but he refused to and therefore was left with no choice but to ask the judge to issue Wee a warrant of arrest so that they can receive help from the Police.
An urgent bail review was called by the prosecution as they wanted to have it revoked as Wee had allegedly committed new offences.
There are four new alleged offences which he committed, such as cutting of his electronic tag on Oct 26 as well as not reporting for urine tests on more than one occasion.
Wee’s lawyer said in court that his parents reminded him last night that he had a pending bail review the next day, but could not wake him up today morning and that it is quite unlikely that Wee will voluntarily surrender himself even if they spoke nicely to him and therefore they seek the judge’s help to issue a warrant of arrest.
His next hearing will be on Nov 22 where he is set to plead his guilt to the offences.
