A spokesperson for Zouk spoke to Straits Times and said that their closure until 10 May was because of an incident where guests were caught intermingling on 23 April.
The area of the club where the incident happened had no staff members deployed and there was also no patrol being conducted at the time.
The spokesperson added that they have stepped up safe distancing measures and doubled their security headcount to make sure that the safety of guests is not compromised.
The dance areas and checkpoints to and from the dance floor have also been cordoned off.
The spokesperson added that ever since the safe distancing measures were relaxed on 26 April, there have been no restrictions on the number of patrons allowed per table.
He added that there have been no Covid cases or clusters linked to Zouk and that the safety of their guests is of their utmost priority, and that they are continuing to work closely with the authorities.
