14-Year-Old M’sian Girl Missing, Sick 47-Year-Old Man Says ” I wait for her Grow Up”

A 14-year-old girl from Kuala Lumpur has gone missing for several days, and her family fears she may be in the company of a 47-year-old man with a questionable past involving fraud and loan sharks.

The missing teenager, Wong Yee Xuan, was last seen on the morning of 23 July, when her grandfather dropped her off at her school in Kepong. However, her family later discovered she never attended classes that day and has been uncontactable since.

Teen Allegedly Groomed by Older Man Met Through Online Game

According to her father, Mr Wong, who works in Singapore, his daughter was under the care of her grandparents along with her younger brother. He believes Yee Xuan may have been lured by a man she befriended through an online game. This individual, who drives a white SUV, had been seen picking her up on multiple occasions, prompting concern among family members.

The situation escalated when Yee Xuan openly admitted that the man was her boyfriend. Despite being told she was a minor, the man reportedly claimed they were “just friends” and expressed his willingness to wait until she was older. Alarmingly, he had even promised to gift her the SUV and buy her a house—promises that raised red flags for the family.

Allegations of Grooming, Fraud, and Misrepresentation

Following suspicious behaviour, including returning home past midnight and visible kiss marks, Yee Xuan’s grandparents took her to file a police report. The family believed she was turning over a new leaf. However, shortly after her father returned to Singapore for work, the girl disappeared once again.

Her family’s investigation led them to Batu Pahat, Johor, where the man was supposedly residing. But the address turned out to be outdated—locals said the man had sold the property and was allegedly in debt to loan sharks, as well as having scammed another woman of RM10,000 (around S$2,900) recently. They also found that the SUV he had promised Yee Xuan was not registered under his name.

Police Classify Case as Missing Persons Investigation

The case is currently being handled by the Gombak District Police, who have classified it as a missing persons investigation. District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir confirmed that authorities are actively searching for the girl and are in constant contact with her grandfather for updates.

Her father, Mr Wong, is now making a heartfelt public appeal for anyone with information on his daughter’s whereabouts to come forward. The family remains deeply concerned for her safety and mental well-being, especially in light of the man’s alleged manipulative tactics and criminal background.

Online Dangers and the Risks of Grooming

This disturbing case has reignited conversations around child grooming, online predators, and digital safety in Malaysia and the region. Vulnerable youths, especially minors using unsupervised online platforms, are increasingly being targeted by older individuals with ulterior motives, often masked behind offers of wealth, love, or gifts.

Parents and guardians are urged to stay vigilant and to have open conversations with their children about internet safety, especially as more youths turn to online games and social platforms for social interaction.

Authorities have not released a recent photo of the girl or the man in question, but anyone with leads is encouraged to contact the local police immediately.
