A 15-year-old girl, who went missing in Singapore, was found in Kuantan, Malaysia, within 24 hours of a missing persons report being filed. The Johor police chief, Datuk M. Kumar, revealed that the girl’s father, a 48-year-old Chinese national residing in Johor, had reported her missing on November 26. The father believed that his daughter had been abducted, as she did not attend school on November 25.
According to MalayMail, Upon investigation, the Johor police discovered that the victim had entered Malaysia through the Woodlands checkpoint on November 24. Acting on intelligence gathered by Johor’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID), CID operatives traced the victim and her abductor to a secret location in Kuantan, Pahang. A police team was promptly dispatched to the location, leading to the successful rescue of the victim on November 26. A 22-year-old Chinese national was arrested at the same location.
Kumar confirmed that items such as mobile phones, clothing, and other relevant equipment had been confiscated for investigation purposes. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for a comprehensive medical examination. The suspect is currently in police custody and has been remanded for seven days. Kumar mentioned that the police are still in the process of determining the motive behind the abduction.
