A major accident took place on the North-South Expressway in Malaysia on 28 November at about 3.57am, involving a Singapore tour bus and a trailer truck.
The New Straits Times reported that the accident happened at the KM179 of the highway, while the Singapore tour bus was heading towards Kuala Lumpur.
There were 27 passengers on board the bus at the time, with 16 of the passengers injured during the accident and sent to the hospital.
The district police chief of Jasin, DSP Mispani Hamdan said that all of the victims were Singaporeans, according to The Star.
The Jasin Bestari Fire and Rescue Station was alerted to the accident and a fire engine with 9 emergency personnel was dispatched to the scene.
The Tangkak Fire and Rescue station also dispatched 8 personnel to help with the rescue efforts.
Senior Fire Officer II Azman Md Dawam said that the bus had crashed into the rear of the trailer truck, which was carrying a load of recyclable materials.
The 16 injured Singaporeans were provided treatment before being sent to the hospital, with the remaining 11 passengers being unhurt.
All of the victims suffered minor injuries.
