The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) has recently apprehended 67 suspected drug offenders in a nationwide anti-drug operation that took place from April 21 to 26, 2024. During this operation, approximately 572g of cannabis, 222g of heroin, 55g of ‘Ice’, half-a-gramme of ketamine, 19 Erimin-5 tablets, five ‘Ecstasy’ tablets, three bottles of liquid suspected to contain GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyrate), and a bottle of methadone were confiscated. The total estimated street value of the seized drugs is around $62,000.
Among those arrested, the youngest was a 16-year-old female Singaporean suspected of drug abuse. The operation covered various areas, including Aljunied, Beach Road, Bukit Batok, Bukit Merah, and Corporation Drive.

During the evening hours of April 21, CNB officers raided a residential unit in Bukit Batok West Avenue 4 and arrested a 50-year-old Singaporean man for suspected drug trafficking. They discovered about 133g of cannabis, 10 Erimin-5 tablets, three ‘Ecstasy’ tablets, a small amount of ‘Ice’, various drug paraphernalia, and cash amounting to $9,081 in the unit. Officers then found about 33g of heroin and two ‘Ecstasy’ tablets in the man’s rental car parked nearby.

On April 23, CNB officers arrested a 46-year-old Singaporean man for suspected drug trafficking after raiding a residential unit in Corporation Drive. They found about 314g of cannabis, including a whole cannabis leaf, a small amount of ‘Ice’, and various drug paraphernalia in the unit.
Assistant Commissioner Sng Chern Hong, Deputy Director CNB (Policy & Administration), cautioned the public: “Possession of any part of the cannabis plant is an offence… CNB would like to caution members of the public, that they should not purchase and keep any such part or parts of cannabis plants as it will be an offence under the law.”
Under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973, possessing any part of a cannabis plant is illegal. If a person is found guilty of possessing cannabis with a quantity of less than 330g, they may face a maximum sentence of 10 years imprisonment or a $20,000 fine, or both. Investigations into all arrested suspects are ongoing.
