17 Y.O GIRL ARRESTED FOR HER INVOLVEMENT IN LOANSHARK HARASSMENT

According to a media release, a 17-year-old girl was arrested for her suspected involvement in a series of loanshark harassment activities.

The police were alerted on 30 Jun 2020 after the door and gate of a unit were splashed with paint at Chao Chu Kang North 7.

After investigations, the police established the identity of the girl and arrested her along Haig Road where she was planning to harass another debtor.

According to the police, the girl was charged in court today (02 Jul) under the Moneylenders act. Anyone convicted for loanshark harassment could face a jail term up to 5 years, fined up to $50,000 and a mandatory caning up to 6 strokes of the cane.
