David was arrested on Wednesday (27 May) and Marcus was arrested on 2 April. Both individuals are alleged to have stolen funds pertaining to the rental of the food outlets.

David was caught in an online love scam and he was threatened after exchanging nude photos with a girl. He embezzled money from Koufu’s Pioneer Mall outlet to pay off the blackmailer.

On a separate issue, Marcus stole funds from a Jurong West hawker centre which is run by Koufu, but instead of getting blackmailed, he blackmailed a girl. Marcus met a girl on wechat, and the girl sent Marcus nude videos of herself dancing. Marcus was charged $50 per video. When their relationship broke down, he threatened to post her nude videos online, which led her to cut her wrist. The girl then proceeded to call the police.

There is no evidence on whether both issues are linked or if the girl associated in both cases is the same one. Both individuals are currently awaiting trial.
